A silver Shekel of Tyre. Obv: Laureate head of Melkarth, the Phoenician Hercules facing right; lion skin around his neck. Rev: Eagle standing left on prow in centre; to left date and club of Hercules below; monogram to right, Phoenician A between legs; Greek inscription around, 'of Tyre the sacred and the city of refuge'.
27½ - 28½ mm, 14.20 gr, axis 12. Date CY 17, 109/8 B.C.E. - reign of Yohanan Horkanos.
