A silver Shekel of Tyre. Obv: Laureate head of Melkarth, the Phoenician Hercules facing right; lion skin around his neck. Rev: Eagle standing left on prow in centre; to left date and club of Hercules below; monogram to right, Phoenician B between legs; Greek inscription around, ' of Tyre the sacred and the city of refuge'.
27 mm, 13.38 gr, axis 12. Date CY 9, 117/6 B.C.E. – reign of Yohanan Horkanos.
