A most cordial and heartfelt letter in which he greets him with "I am pleased to congratulate him on the happy occasion, may the Lord grant that the wedding be auspicious and that he may enjoy a happy life with his worthy bride for many years to come, and may he find rest to rise to greater heights of Torah and pure Yiras Shomayim, to be a light and an example for our people, as befits his noble powers and talents which the Lord has bestowed upon him, and may he be blessed with the enjoyment of two tables of Torah and greatness combined, all his days..." Rabbi Yehoshua Zelig Ruch (1880-1942), "The Rakishok Iluy" one of the great disciples of the Slabodka Yeshiva. One of the great talmidim sent by the Alter of Slabodka to introduce the spirit of Mussar into the yeshivot of Telz and Mir.
Son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Shulvitz, founder and head of the Yeshiva of Lomza, which he was appointed to head together with his brother-in-law Rabbi Yechiel Mordechai Gordon.
At the time of the founding of the Yeshiva branch in Petach Tikva in 1926, Rabbi Zelig arrived from Poland to Eretz Yisrael to head the Yeshiva.
And when his brother-in-law Rabbi Yechiel Mordechai arrived in Petach Tikvah to head the yeshiva, Rabbi Zelig returned to Poland to head the central yeshiva in Lomza.
Murdered in the Holocaust on the eve of Yom Kippur 5702, he was clad in a kittel and wrapped in a tallit.
