Beit HaBechirah L'Meiri on Tractates Nedarim, Nazir and Sotah. Halberstadt, 1860. With Rabbi Yosef Yisrael Deutch's Signature and Stamp
Rabb Menachem ben Shlomo of the Meiri family was one of the leading commentators on the Talmud and one of the sages of Provence. In his work, he summarizes the simple meaning of the topics, with a tendency towards the Ramba"m's words, a summary of the opinions of the adjudicators of the generations preceding his, and halachic conclusions on the topic.
Rabbi Yosef Yisrael Deutch (1845-1927) author of Ben Garni, was a disciple of the Ktav Sofer and served as Av Beit Din of Szendrő. Beginning in 1878, he succeeded his father in the Balsha-Yarmot rabbinate. He was a son of Rabbi Aharon David Deutch, author of Goren David, primary disciple of his rabbi, the Chatam Sofer, Av Beit Din of Sebezh, and beginning in 1851, he served 27 years in the rabbinate of Balsha-Yarmot [refer to HeChatam Sofer U'Talmidav pp. 49-52].
