Divrei Nechemia – A Distinguished Copy, By a Disciple of the Admor Baal HaTanya
Sefer Shu”t Divrei Nechemia, Part I on Shulchan Aruch Even HaEzer, by Rabbi Nechemia Ginzburg of Dubrovna, one of the esteemed disciples of the Admor HaZaken of Liozna/Lubavitch (Baal HaTanya). Vilna, 5626 [1866]. First edition.
The gaon Rabbi Nechemia Berech Ginzburg of Dubrovna [1788-1852] was one of the greatest disciples of the Admor HaZaken, and later, a disciple of the Admor HaEmtza’i and the Tzemach Tzedek. He was a chavruta (study partner) of the Tzemach Tzedek before the latter assumed the leadership of Chabad. It is well known that the Tzemach Tzedek would sometimes send his responsa to Rabbi Nechemia to receive his scholarly opinion. He was renowned as an extraordinary Torah scholar of exceptional brilliance.
With an inscription and the signature of Rabbi Baruch Osmo.
Rabbi Baruch Osmo was a wealthy and well-known Torah scholar who resided in Kiev. He is praised in the writings of several prominent authors of his time, including the Shoel U'Meshiv, Devar Avraham, and others. He authored Chad VeChalak (Vilna, 5642 [1882]), a work of pilpul (Talmudic discourse), which received particularly significant approbations.
