Shearei Sefarim Ivriim by A. M. Haberman - Dedication by Channah Rubina
Shearei Sefarim Ivriim by A. M. Haberman - with a handwritten and signed dedication by Channah Rubina, to Yitzchak Greenbaum. To the dear and admired Mr. Yitzchak Greenbaum on the occasion of his 90th birthday - until 120, with love and esteem, Hannah Rubina"
Hannah Rubina [1888-1980] was "the first lady of the Hebrew stage." She immigrated to the Land of Israel with the "HaBimah" group of actors in 1928. Her claim to fame was her role in the play The Dybbuk by Sh. Ansky. The popularity of the play manifested in the fact that for years the logo of the HaBimah theater was the image of Rubina as a young lady in a white dress with two long braids - the character she played in The Dybbuk. Each role she played on stage was filled with drama and serious expression of the role according to the Stanislavski method. She eventually earned the Israel prize for theater.
Yitzchak Greenbaum [1897-1970] was among the leaders of the Zionist movement of Polish Jewry between the two world wars, the first interior minister of the of the State of Israel and a member of the Jewish Agency administration and that of the World Zionist Organization.
Greenbaum's bookplate appears on the inside of the binding.
Very fine condition.
