Large pewter plate depicting a scene of a mourning meal.


At center is an etching of two mourners sitting on a bench and two people serving them food and drink.


Beautiful etching on the lip of the plate: "Gift from the [chevra kaddisha] ... [year chronogram of the verse Hashem will erase tears from every face: 1769]."


German stamp on the back of the plate, in the center.


Diameter: 29 cm.

Very fine condition.
