Incunabula: Passages from the Rambam"s Mishnah Torah: First Printed Edition. 1474

First edition of the Ramba"m. Passages from Mishneh Torah L'HaRamba"m. Hilchot Sukkah V'Lulav [Zmanim]. Rome, c. 1474. Incunabula.

These are excerpts from Mishneh Torah L'HaRamba"m, apparently printed in Rome 1473-1475. This edition is known as the first edition of Mishneh Torah printed in its entirety, hence its bibliographic importance. Much has been written about this edition. We will specifically point out Tishbi's article in Kiryat Sefer, Noach 1982, pp. 843-846 along with Aharon Freiman, Otzar L'Melechet HaDefus HaIvri HaRishonah B'Meah HaChamesh Esreh 17A.

These pieces of paper were stored in genizat krichot over close to half a millennium [450 years], which protected this paper and ink in the best possible manner and the vast majority of the text is completely legible and clear.

[3] scraps of paper. Various sizes. Thick paper.

Overall moderate condition. Worming marks. Fading in a few lines.
