Letter from the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Dov of Würzburg to his Son Rabbi Shlomo - Elucidation of the Words of his Teacher, the Author of Gidulei Taharah

Torah letter from the renowned gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Seligman Bamberger, senior rabbi of Würzburg, patriarch of the multi-branched Bamberger family and one of the most prominent rabbis of Germany. Sent to his son, the gaon Rabbi Shlomo, av beit din of Sennheim. Würzburg, Kislev, 1865.

The letter discusses mikveh-related topics, and an elucidation of the words of Rabbi Mendel Kargau, author of Gidulei Taharah on the topic. The gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Dov was known as one of Rabbi Mendel's most prominent disciples. Several responsa by Rabbi Mendel Kargau in this sefer are addressed to him.

This letter was printed in Shu"t Ya"d HaLevi Part I (Jerusalem, 1966) p. 173, with the omission of the opening titles and the warm words of conclusion: "From your father who loves you, who carries you on the shoulders of his heart and upon the summit of his soul ..."
