Sefer HaRokeach. Zolkiew, 1806. Printed by Order of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev. Signature

"Brought to print by order of the honorable rabbi, the Chassidic gaon, the famous G-dly ... Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, av beit din of Berdichev ..."

Sefer HaRokeach was authored by Rabbeinu Elazar b'Rabbeinu Yehudah of Germaiza, one of the Ba'alei HaTosafot. The book includes the practiced and essential laws for a person on each day of the year in an abbreviated style, including the laws of festivals and repentance, prayer and blessing, marriage, issur v'hetter and more, according to the tradition of the Tosafists. Zolkiew, 1806.

This book was printed for the first time in Fano in 1605 and has since established and influenced many customs. The publisher writes as follows in his introduction: "I very much appreciate [many honorifics] Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, av beit din of Berdichev, and admire him with all my heart, in that he saw that this book had ceased to circulate these past years because it has not been printed for so long, and due to its being so scarce, many do not even know of its existence ... He arose to awaken the hearts of man, to bring it to print..."
