Kol Ben Levi. Exceptional Pedigree Copy, for Chassidim and Mitnagdim! Stamps and Glosses

Kol Ben Levi - novellae on the Ramba"m and responsa by Rabbi Rephael HaLevi. Constantinople, 1727. First edition. Copy that belonged to the tzaddik Rabbi Itzeleh Blazer, av beit din of Peterburg, and to the father-in-law of kings, Rabbi Moshe Chalfon, father-in-law of the Saraf of Kotzk and Chiddushei HaRi"m.

The author passed away during a plague in 1724 when he was 22 years old. His father Rabbi Elyah HaLevi published this book in his memory. It contains halachic novellae and halachic responsa by his young son. With an introduction by Rabbi Yitzchak HaKohen Rapoport, author of Batei Kehunah, who was the deceased's teacher. At the end of the book, there are two derashot delivered by Rabbi Yitzchak Rapoport, one from the author's wedding and the second from a eulogy a year after his passing.

Copy with especially distinguished pedigree. At first, it belonged to Rabbi Moshe Chalfon [Chalfin], father-in-law of the "Saraf of Kotzk" and the "Chiddushei HaRi"m" of Gur. His stamp appears on the title page. The book then belonged to the tzaddik Rabbi Itzele Blazer (Peterburger). His stamp appears in Hebrew and Russian on the flyleaf: "Yitzchak Blazer, formerly of the [royal] city of Peterburg." Several handwritten glosses along the length of the book.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of the author Rabbi Rephael HaLevi, the book's owner Rabbi Moshe Lipshitz, and the book's owner Rabbi Yitzchak Blazer.
