Ohr Li - Responsa [by Rabbi Chizkiyahu Medini]. One of the early books by the 'Sdei Chemed' that he published anonymously. Izmir, 1784. First edition. Uncommon book. Signature.
The author omitted his name, yet alluded to it: The book includes [136] responsa, which is the numerical value of the author's name: Chizkiyahu [חזקיהו (136)] The name Chaim was added after he became ill. The author writes in his preface about the passing of his only son, and that he took solace in Torah study. The book is adorned with an approbation by Rabbi Yosef Tumarkin, av beit din of Krementchug, a renowned Chabad Chassid, and approbations by Izmir rabbis.
