Mishnat Yehudah. Warsaw, 1908. Author's Son's Dedication to the Chafetz Chaim's Disciple

Mishnat Yehudah - commentary on mishnayot, first (and only) part on Tractate Berachot, with the text, by Rabbi Yosef Shraga Feivel Malin, rosh av beit din of Brisk. Warsaw, 1908. The book was published by his son, Rabbi Avraham Moshe Malin.

Dedication on the title page (slightly cropped in its margins) "Souvenir gift for my dear friend, the excellent rabbi, the gaon in Torah and fear of Heaven", M. Pesach Plato [?], 15 Shevat, Brisk, [Avraham?] Malin, the author's son."

The inner side of the front binding bears a pasted-on label: "Rabbi P. Plato... Brooklyn."

This is apparently Rabbi Pesach Plato, a beloved disciple of the Chafetz Chaim's. Meir Einei Yisrael, Part II, pp 270, tells of an interesting event that happened to him together with the Chafetz Chaim.

10, 13-132 pp. 29.5 cm.

Moderate condition. Adhesion in the title page, with several words. Dry paper. Old binding, not the original.
