Glosses on Sefer HaChazkuni. Venice, [1559]
Commentary of Rabbeinu Chizkiah the son of Rav Manoach on the Torah. Venice [1559].
Leaves 53-150. Missing the beginning until leaf 53, and at the end, seven leaves. Moderate condition. Not bound.
A number of glosses on the margins apparently from the sages of Morocco, some signed and the signatures of the owners on two of the glosses. The proofreader writes at the end "So I have heard from Moreinu V'Rabbeinu Yisrael."
Glosses signed by יהודה ויה"ס. He is the one whose signature is on leaf 109, b Yehuda [HaKohen son of Susan] apparently a descendant of the famous dayan in Fez Rabbi Yehuda HaKohen Sussan of the period of the Rishonim. In the sefer Ner HaMa'arav his descendants testify that they lived until this period in Fez.
Additional signatures: Shlomo ben Lachsan, lived in the 6th century in Meknes, Rabbi Shmuel Elbaz describes him as "Chacham Charashim Navon Lachash" (Master of Kabbalah), (Malki Rabbanan leaf 114, a). Such descriptions are written about a sage who learns the secrets of Torah (kabbalah) that are given over in whispers. See Rashi on Yeshayah, 3,3.
