Chessed L'Avraham. Slavuta, [1794], at the Press of Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz
Chessed L'Avraham. Tenets and prefaces according to the writings of the Rama"k and the Arizal divided and explained by Rabbi Avraham Azulai. Slavuta, [1794].
[6], 87, 1-34 [should say: 36], the [1] last leaf is marked 88. 19 cm.
Approbations of the disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch on the title page verso: Rabbi Shimshon of Shepetovka who was then serving as Rabbi of Slavuta, and Rabbi Aryeh Leib of Zbarz. The approbation of Rabbi Shimshon is of historical importance because its mentions the printing press of the righteous Shapira brothers of Slavuta.
In his approbation, Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon explicitly states that Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz established the press. He states that he 'saw the press established in Slavuta by my relation through marriage, the great rabbi…Pinchas, and I also saw the books that were already printed..'.
He then appointed his son Rabbi Moshe Shapira, av"d in Slauvta, to manage the printing press.
New binding. Worming holes in a selection of leaves - primarily in the margins. Fine condition.
