Rödelheim Siddur - Final Edition from Pre-Holocaust Nazi Germany

 * Siddur Sefat Emet - Renowned siddur by Rabbi Wolf Heidenheim [the Rawa"h] published in approximately 200 editions. Rödelheim, 1938 - 157th edition - final edition of the Rödelheim siddur published in pre-Holocaust Nazi Germany, several months before Kristallnacht.

The siddur includes: prayers for the entire year with instructions in German, the order of the weekly Torah portions, and selichot. On page 122, in place of the customary prayer for the success of the government, there is a unique prayer requesting mercy [beginning "נשא לבבנו אל כפים"] reflecting the harsh period for German Jewry at the time: "Please, merciful Father ... may Your lovingkindness for our homeland, the magnificent Germany, be healed from its brokenness, to be revived and glorified ... Remove plague, sword, famine and sorrow from our beautiful country ... may the sound of robbery not be heard at our border, when you cease wars to the ends of the land ..."

* Tehillim HaRawa"h (Rödelheim, 1864) is bound at the end of the siddur. Psalms that are a segulah for healing are indicated on the back of the Tehillim's title page.
