Lashon Zahav - Michtam L'David. Amsterdam, 1751. Rare
Lashon Zahav – Michtam L'David. Letters from Yosef Marson. Amsterdam in the printing press of Dr. Hertz Levi and his son-in-law Kashman, 1751.
60 pages, 15.5cm. Yiddish and Hebrew. Contains examples of letters between the bridegroom, bride and in-laws, congratulatory wishes for a Brit Milah and Pidyon HaBen, invitation to a wedding, wording for beginnings and ends of letters, and more.
Printed in fluent Ashkenazi script – cursive letters. On the title page is written: part two, the first part of the work is "Chanoch L'Naar" which contains business letters. However, the book was printed by itself in a different year, and so is listed in the bibliography.
In the National Library and in Vinograd-Rosenfeld is listed that it was published in 1781. However, in Ginzei Yisrael – Mehlman Collection 1244 is listed 1751. And indeed, from the publisher's name it seems that it was printed in 1751.
Old loose cover. Very Fine condition.
