The Letter's Content: Rabbi Shneur Kotler turns to the rosh yeshiva of Kfar Chassidim to accept and build a relationship with a young man who learned in yeshiva in the United States and now wants to learn in the yeshiva in Kfar Chassidim. Rabbi Shneur even mentions the boy's lineage. The letter was written during the lifetime of Rabbi Aharon Kotler, Rabbi Shneur's father, who died in 1962, and Rabbi Shneur passes on regards from his father in an addition to the letter.
Rabbi Yosef Chaim Shneur Zalman Kotler [1918-1982] was rosh yeshiva of the Lakewood Yeshiva in New Jersey and a member of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah in the United States. Son of Rabbi Aharon Kotler of Slutsk, founder of the yeshiva in Lakewood, and grandson of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. In his time, the Lakewood yeshiva experienced tremendous growth, and the yeshiva's students established yeshivas and kollels throughout the United States.
Rabbi Rafael Eliyahu Eliezer Mishkovsky (known as Rabbi Eleh) [1917-1981] was the rosh yeshiva of the Knesset Chizkiyahu yeshiva in Kfar Chassidim and the rabbi of the settlement. He wrote the book Mishnat Eliyahu.
