Ravid HaZahav, novellae and sermons by Rabbi Dov Ber Tribish. First edition. The title page bears an owner's signature of the renowned gaon Rabbi Shneur Zalman Hershkowitz, Av Beit Din of Goldingen, author of Gilyon Alfas - which has the privilege of being printed inside the Vilna edition of Sha"s.


The author was a dayan in Vilna in the Gr"a's time. The book was printed in his lifetime, and in two places in the book, the author cites the Gr"a, and also what he asked him and what the latter answered.


Rabbi Shneur Zalman Hershkowitz, rabbi of Goldingen [1818-1904] was the author of Gilyon Alfas on the Ri"f that is currently printed in all editions of Sha"s. Rabbi Shneur Zalman was a descendant of the Admo"rs of Lubavitch. He was a disciple/colleague [תלמיד חבר] of Rabbi Itzal'leh of Volozhin. Rabbi Shneur Zalman published the book Even Yisrael by Rabbi Yisrael of Salant with the Even Bochen commentary - novellae that he innovated himself. He was also rabbi in Raguva in Brisk, but he was known as rabbi of Goldingen [Latvia] where he served for 50 years.

Fine condition: Aging stains. Slight blemish in the white margins of the first and last leaves, far from the text. Simple binding.
