Postcard Chiddushei Torah written in his hand, signed and signed by Rabbi Shmuel Yalov to Rabbi Israel Porat.
The postcard deals with the issue of whether a ger can serve as a judge in a rabbinic court, in order to convert a gentile. The author of the letter notes what he wrote in his book, "Shmuel Shmuel" (6:50), in the explanation of Rashi's remarks in Kiddushin (2b), " Israel, that we are the people of Israel are discussing the man of Hagar if he deserves to be accepted by us, and this is not a law of souls nor laws of property, but the law of Israel, and therefore consumed Israelis rather than converts. In the book Ginat Egoz (Rabbi Zvi Schechter, 32: 5) states that "the Beit Din here is not required to be compared to Hagar. Rather, it is as though it is for the Jewish community that it is proper and proper to accept this gentile as a stranger." Rabbi Shmuel Yalov - one of the greatest rabbis of Syracuse in New York, and author of the book Shalemi Shmuel. Rabbi Yisrael Porat (1886-1974) was a Jerusalem talmid hakham, a disciple of R. Kook, the only Ashkenazic rabbi ever offered to serve as the sage of Bashi, who served for about 50 years as a central rabbi in Cleveland , Ohio, author of "Introduction to the Talmud". [1] postcard written on two sides. Syracuse (New York), 1957. Condition ; Very Good.
