ספר הישר שלפנינו מיוחס לרבינו תם (כמופיע בשער), אך רבים מפקפקים בכך.
מהספרים הראשונים שנדפסו בדפוס זה בירושלים. בתחילת ובסוף הספר מופיעים ציור מקום המקדש, ושני ציורים של מכונת הדפוס בירושלים.
