Rabbi Mordechai Issachar Leifer, the Admor of Pittsburgh (Ashdod), was born to Rabbi Avraham Abba Leifer and Rachel, daughter of Rabbi Itamar of Nadvorna, who studied at Yeshivat Teshbin in Jerusalem and was married to Aviva Miriam, daughter of Rabbi Isaac Isaac Liebes. "My father's house." He was appointed as Admor of his father in 1948. Under the leadership of Rabbi Mordechai, Hasidism was established in Ashdod, and there are many institutions in the city.
Rabbi Mordechai Kabbio composes melodies, and some of them were published in the "Pittsburgh Chants" melodies series. Some of his songs have been most famous, including the melody of "And He Knew Every Action" for Rosh Hashanah, and the melody "Kah Rabun" for Shabbat.
