המחבר נולד בקובנה, עבר למנצ'סטר בה חי 22 שנה, ואחר כך עלה לירושלים. המחבר כותב שבשנת תרע"ג הספר היה מוכן לדפוס והוא שלח אותו לרבי עקיבא רבינוביץ מפולטובה, אך בעקבות המלחמה הספרים נעלמו.
