הרב מרדכי שוחטמן (תרמ"ד-תש"ח) פוסק מובהק. היה רב בטשערניוויץ-פודוליה, סורוקה-בסרביה והיה סגנו של של הרב הראשי צירלסון, בזמן המהפכה ברוסיה ארגן הגנה יהודית נאסר ונידון למות וניצל, יצא לפאריס וכיהן כרב קהלת "יבנה" ודיין ומנהל מחלקת העגונות, סייע לפליטים מגרמניה, הגיע לארה"ב ויסד קהלה ליהודי רוסיה בניו יורק עם הרב איזנשטט.
