Sefer Mishnas D'Rabbi Eliezer, novellae on Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat by Rav Eliezer Lazi Berlin, rav"d Altona.
Concludes with chiddushim from the first and second editions by the author and a homily by the author's son.
Approbations from the Nesivos and Rav Akiva Eiger, who presubscribed to this work and whose names appears in the list of subscribers.

  • This volume was gifted by the author's son, dayan in Posen, Rav Shmuel b"r Lazi, to Rav Meir Weil.
  • The flyleaf bears a nice, long poem written and signed by the dayan of Posen, Rav Shmuel b"r Lazi, with acrostics spelling out the name of the recipient, מאיר ווייל.
  • The title page bears the owner notation and signature of Rav Meir Weil, noting that he received the volume from his friend, the author's son, Rav Shmuel.
  • Signatures of HaGaon Rav Refael Naftali Yaakov b"r Moshe Hakohen.
  • Additional signatures: Pinchas HaLevi Horowitz.
Rav Shmuel b"r Lazi was dayan in Posen during the era of Rav Akiva Eiger and had a friendly relationship with him (Refer to Kushiyos Atzumos, Beitza 21, "My friend…Shmuel n"y b"r Lazi commented on this…). He passed away in Posen, Kislev, 1846 and was buried there.

Rav Meir Weil, was a prominent talmid chacham and gaon. He was rav in ראגאזען and was a descendant of Dr. Chaim Yehudah Aryeh Weil. (The responsa from Rav Akiva Eiger to Rav Meir Weil were not written to him, but to Rav Meir Weil, av"d Berlin.)

Rav Naftali Yaakov HaKohen (1885-1942) was a talmid of Rav Moshe Greenwald the Arugas HaBosem. He was a Rav in Cârlibaba, Bukovina. He survived the Holocaust and served as Rav in מיהאי - פאלווה and on a beis din to free agunos in Romania. He moved to Eretz Yisrael in 1948, and settled in Haifa and Bnei Brak. He authored Savar Naftali and Otzar HaGedolim Alufei Yaakov - nine sections.
