Hungary and Galicia. Letter with a brachah for Rabbi Eliezer Zussman's 70th birthday, from his grandson, Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fishel Sofer.
Letter with good wishes from Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fishel Sofer av"d Sárospatak to his grandfather, Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer in honor of his seventieth birthday.
Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer (1828-1903), was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fishel and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yoel Ungar av"d Paks, author of Shu"t Riv"a. He was a prominent Hungarian rebbe and a prolific author. The Chasam Sofer was his mohel and he learned by him when he was young. His primary teachers were the Ksav Sofer and the Maharam Schick. He was rav in Halas, and then in 1886, he succeeded his father-in-law as av"d Paks until his death.
His grandson, Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fishel Sofer (1877-1941) av"d Sárospatak, was the son of Rabbi Amram Fisher av"d יינק.
