Letter from Rav Moshe Halevi Pollack, av"d Bonyhad to the Maharam Schick.

Letter regarding "sirtut" of lines and the measure of the sheets of parchment of the Sefer Torah from Rabbi Moshe Halevi Pollack, author of Vayidaber Moshe, sent to the Maharam Schick.
He writes, "I saw the shiur of an "etzba" by the Chasam Sofer, and it's the measure of a ציאל in this country."
He concludes his question: " And above all I plead and beg that since Hashem undoubtedly gave him the zechus of writing a Sefer Torah, I would like to know how long it is and the number of its lines."

Rav Moshe Levi Pollack av"d Bonyhad (1845-1889) was a prominent Torah teacher in his generation and many leading Hungarian rabbanim were his talmidim. He was the son of Rav Yitzchak Zeckel HaLevi Pollack, av"d Bonyhad and a talmid of the Ksav Sofer and Mahari Assad. His printed works include the Vayidaber Moshe, Birkas Moshe, and Tikkun Moshe [HaChassam Sofer V'Talmidav, p. 524].
The letter was printed in the Dvar Hisachdus-Dushinksy, Jerusalem 1987, booklet 34-35, p. 33.
The Maharam Schick's answer to this letter were printed in Shu"t Maharam Schick, Yoreh Deah, siman 261-262.
