Responsa of Rabbi Yosef ben Lev - section 4, with novellae on the Talmud.
Rabbi Yosef ben Lev, the Maharv”al (c. 1505 - 1580) was a Salonica sage and prominent leader after the expulsion from Spain. He held halachic give and take with Rabbi Yosef Karo. His responsa, peppered with charifus and amkus, are classic works of Sephardic responsa.
Owner signatures on the title page and following leaf.
The back of the title page features a haskamah from Rabbi Shmuel av”d Furth, the author of the Beis Shmuel on Even Haezer that was printed that same year.
