Perelle - 5 Architectural Engravings
This detailed, oblong folio engraving is from the Adam & Gabriel Perelle's Veues des belles maisons de France... The work was published by Jean Mariette and Nicolas Langlois in Paris circa 1680.

The decorative and historic engravings are highly detailed often featuring street vendors, horse-riders, peasants, soldiers, acrobats, and carriages. The work offers a glimpse of daily life in the reign of Louis XIV.

The Perelles were influenced by Jacques Callot, Flemish, and Italian art. They were considered the leading figures of 17th century French landscape art.

The work is in excellent condition overall. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age and mostly to the margins. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
