Illustrated Certificate of Appreciation to City Engineer Yaakov Ben Sira - Tel Aviv 1942
Cardboard board with an opening greeting inside, on one side the decorated greeting and on the other dozens of signatures of municipality employees.
The greeting reads: "To our dear manager and mentor, the municipal engineer of Tel Aviv, Mr. Yaakov Shifman. Our faithful congratulations on his arrival in the year of Bar Mitzvah in his work in the municipality. His many achievements - our pride! Employees of the engineering department."
Ben Sira (Shifman, 1899-1994) was a city planner and city engineer of Tel Aviv for more than twenty years. During his time, he worked to stop building in the eclectic style and adopt the international style. His design was later named "The White City" and was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
