Sefer Pnei Aryeh -Amsterdam 1790- includes the response of Rabbi Chaim Solman, a wealthy man from America.

The first edition of Shalos Uteshuvos Pnei Aryeh was written by Rabbi Aryeh Leib of Breslau in 1790. He was the head of the best din in Emden and Rotterdam and was one of the most prominent rabbis of his time.

Rabbi Aryeh Leib was born in Breslau and studied in Lisa and Berlin. He was also one of the students who learned in the shul of Rabbi Daniel Yafeh of Berlin, where many other great rabbis also studied. He served as the rabbi in Emden and later became the rabbi in Rotterdam in 1781.

The book reveals his close connections with many other sages of his generation, including Rabbi Pinchas Horowitz, known as the Baal Haflaah, Rabbi Yeshaya Pick, Rabbi Dovid Tebil of Lisa, Rabbi Meir Weil, and Rabbi Meir Posner, the Baal Beis Meir.

One interesting chapter discusses a donor named Rabbi Chaim from Philadelphia, also known as Rabbi Chaim Solman, who sent a donation to a poor man. However, by the time the donation arrived, the man had already become wealthy and didn't need the funds. The author describes the American donor with glowing praise.

The Sefer is signed by the Gaon Rabbi Dov Aryeh Ritter of Rotterdam, one of the well-known Torah sages of Holland.
