Roman Mercury Statuette
1st-2nd century AD
A bronze figurine of Mercury (Greek Hermes) standing nude with mantle to the left shoulder, supporting caduceus on the left arm, holding marsupium coin-purse in the right hand. 13 grams, 45mm (1 3/4"). Fine condition.
Provenance
From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980.
