Letter from the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel David Walkin – in His Name and On His Behalf
postcard from the great Gaon Rabbi Aharon Walkin, author of “Zkan Aharon”, Av Beis Din of Pinsk-Karlin, written in his name by his son, the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel David Walkin. Pinsk, 1927.
The letter was sent to the management of Va’ad Hayeshivos in Vilna, and in it he describes his father’s efforts on behalf of the “Shekel Hakodesh” – the fundraising for Va’ad Hayeshivos. The letter also mentions Rabbi Yosef Steinberg, Rabbi Tzvi Feldman from the village of Ivanek, R’ Pinchas Lehrman, R’ M.C. Kolodny, Dr. Galitzky, Yudel Eisenberg, R’ Zev Krayetz, and others.
At the end of the letter, Rabbi Shmuel David writes that he had written the letter per his father’s request.
