Rabbi Chizkiah Da Silva (1656-1698), one of the leading contemporary Poskim. Born in Livorno and immigrated to Jerusalem, where he learned diligently and served as Rosh Yeshiva of Beis Yaakov Viga'. His book Pri Chadash on Shulchan Aruch is considered a fundamental Psikah book. In 1689 he was sent to Europe as a Shadar, publishing his his book in Amsterdam.
