The great Gaon Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Henkin [1881-1973] one of the greatest Poskim of the USA, one of the managers of the Ezras Torah Fund for supporting yeshiva students. Studied with Gedolei Hador and was soon acknowledged as one of the most important rabbis of Lithuania. Was especially famed for his Psakim on Dinei Ishus and Gittin. Was recognized in the USA as Mara DeAtra, mainly until the rise of Maran the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, who himself defined Rabbi Henkin as 'Posek Hador'.
Maran the Gaon Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin (1880-1966) - a student of the Slobodka, Volozhin and Telz yeshivas. Served as Av beis Din of Luck and the vicinity of Vohlin. In 1940, he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and became the chairman of Vaad Hayeshivos there. Was president of Mo'etzes Gedolei HaTorah and chairman of the independent education. Author of the book Oznayim LaTorah and more.
