Etz Chaim, [Lashtzov/Koretz], [1818]. Rare.

Sefer Etz Chaim, authored by Rabbi Chaim Vital, what he heard from his leading Rav the Ari. Published by Avraham Yitzchak, [[Lashtzov/Koretz], [1818]. Rare.

[1], 51 [i.e. 101] leaves. This edition is similar to Lashtzov 1818 edition which was printed by Y.L. Rabin Stein, with typographical variations to the title page due to the censor: the place of printing, printer's name and date of printing were not printed. To this edition, an illustration of a vase with flowers was added above the illustration of the original edition. In some of the other copies, the title page notes the other place of printing (Koretz) and the year [1818]. According to the colophon, the year of printing is 1818.

Appearing on the title page are owner's stamps of Rabbi Mordechai Moshe Hacohen Karpman and Rabbi Yaakov Kopel Landman. Several corrections and a handwritten gloss on the margins of the leaves. A gloss and several handwritten corrections of printing errors.

The content of the book was heard by Rabbi Chaim Vital during the couple of years the Ari had lived in Safed, during the years 1570-1572. At first, the words were written down shortly as they were said by the Ari and later, were edited by Rabbi Chaim Vital and published in Sefer Etz Chaim.
