Ashrei HaAm Yodei Teru'ah - Rare Sermon Handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Sholom Elyoshiv

Special sermon for Rosh HaShana, handwritten entirely by Maran Posek Hador the great Gaon Rabbi Yosef Sholom Elyoshiv.

The sermon revolves around the matter of 'יודעי תרועה' and the combination of the blowing of the Shofar and the memory of Rosh Hashana in general.

Maran Harav Elyoshiv clearly elucidates the matter of forgetfulness and memory and then goes on to a wonderful elucidation on the verse 'צור ילדך תשי ותשכח אל מחוללך', the joy and concern, instruments of song and instruments of mourning, and accordingly nicely explains the virtue of Rosh Hashana and the Avodah that is required of us on such a holy day.

Two full pages, in Maran the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Sholom Elyoshiv's beautiful, pearly script, with no correction or erasure - wonder of wonders.

Maran Posek Hador Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyoshiv [1910-2012] was born in Lithuania to his parents the Gaon Rabbi Avraham and his mother, the daughter of Maran the Leshem. In 1924, he immigrated with his family to the Holy Land, living all his life in the Meah She'arim neighborhood, in never-ending study of the Torah. Served as Dayan of the supreme Rabbinic Beis Din. Became the son-in-law of the Jerusalemite Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Levin. Was renowned for his genius and diligence. He was daily sent Halachic questions from all over the world. Eventually, he became the greatest Posek Hador of his generation and one of the leaders of Chareidi Jewry.
