עומר כיאם (18 במאי 1048- 4 בדצמבר 1131) היה מלומד פרסי, מיסטיקן סופי, פילוסוף, מתמטיקאי שעסק בגאומטריה ובאלגברה, משורר ואסטרונום. כיאם נודע כיום בעיקר בזכות כ-1000 שירים שכתב, "מרובעים" ("רובאעיאת"), אשר תורגמו ללשונות רבות. אחד המתרגמים של המרובעים לעברית היה לא פחות מאשר נפתלי הרץ אימבר, מחבר "התקווה".
