Silver Seder Plate. Germany, Late 19th Century. Hallmarked
Especially large plate, quality craftsmanship made of gilded silver.
This rare plate is different from other common Seder Plates made in Germany. In its center, there is a relief of an inscription from the Passover Haggadah. Beside the Hebrew word 'Kadesh', there is a relief of a hand holding a wine cup.
Written around the plate is the blessing "ברוך אתה ה אלוהינו מלך העולם אשר קידשנו במצוותיו וצונו על אכילת מצה".
Significant residue of gilding on the plate. With German hallmarks, apparently from the late 19th century.
