Item Overview
Description:
Heichal HaKodesh. Amsterdam, 1653. First Edition.
Elucidation of prayers for the entire year according to Kabbalistic wisdom. Authored by Rabbi Moshe bar Maimon, referred to as Elbaz.
This was published by the Kabbalist Rabbi Yaakov son of Aharon Sasportas, a staunch opponent of Sabbatian movement. He added a lengthy preface and beautiful, rhyming poem about the ‘Ten Sefirot’ structured as an acronym of his name.
The glosses of the Kabbalist Rabbi Aharon HaSaboni of Sali are similarly added to this work. Rabbi Aharon proofread and annotated the book according to the teachings of the Ari HaKadosh.
Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon Elbaz was a 16th Century Moroccan sage and noted Kabbalist. He led a group of Kabbalists including Yehuda ben Hanin, Yitzchak ben Avrahm HaKohen and Yaakov ben Yitzchak Ifargan.
Amsterdam, 1653. First edition.
