Shu”t HaRosh. Handwritten Ownership Listings. Venice, 1552.
Nice Copy.
Responsa of the Rosh by Rabbi Asher son of Yechiel of Lunel, one of the Ba’alei Tosafot.
A second edition of the Responsa of the Rosh that was printed in Constantinople, 1517 included Mareh Mekomot by Rabbi Meir son of Yaakov Ish Printz.

The endpaper features handwritten ownership listing: “Belongs to the cherished lad, Rabbi Zalman Kville”. He was a prominent, wealthy man in Stuttgart. The book ‘Minchat Ahavah’ (Roedelheim, 1806) was dedicated in honor of his Bar Mitzvah.
The title page features the handwritten signature: “Eli’ Levi Ettingen”.

Shu”t HaRosh – The Responsa of the Rosh:
The Rosh wrote answers to the numerous questions that were addressed to him. These were compiled into the work “The Responsa of the Rosh”. The Rosh was inundated with queries. So much so, that at one point he limited addressing questions to those submitted by Dayanim and Rabbis. The Shu”t HaRosh is in a different format to that of other Rishonim’s responsa. The answers appear in groups, termed as ‘Klal’, categorized according to topics. Under the title ‘Klal’ appear a few responses to questions on the same topic. These are grouped together, despite questions originating from different sources and dates.
