Sefer Yesod. Sefer Mitzvot Gadol by Rabbenu Moshe MiKutzi. Magnificent, Complete Copy.

Pinted by Daniel Bomberg, Venice 1547

Rabbi Moshe Mikutzi, one of the Ba’alei HaTosafot, was one of the greatest Rishonim, and prominent Halachic authority of his time. The Halachic work he authored in the 13th century, was a fundamental Halachic reference for all early generations. The book is comprised of two parts; a section with the positive commandments and a section with negative commandments. As is apparent from his introduction to his book, Rabbi Moshe authored this work following a dream in which he was told; “Arise, make a Sefer Torah in two parts”.

Rabbi Moshe based his Halachic rulings on the great Halachic giant, the Rambam, whom he quotes anonymously. Rabbi Yitzchak MiKorovil based his book, ‘Sefer Mitzvot HaKatan’ on Rabbi Moshe’s work.

Separate title page for the Positive Commandments Section.
