Rabbi Yehuda Rozanis (1657-1726) was one of the greatest commentaries on the Yad Chazaka of the Rambam. He was one of Constantinople’s great sages, and studied Torah under Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi, disciple of The MaHarit. Rabbi Yaakov Kuli was a leading disciple of Rabbi Yehuda Rozanis. Rabbi Kuli authored the book Me’am Lo’ez on the Parshiyot of the Torah. This book includes explanations, Midrashim and Aggadot. Additionally, Rabbi Kuli edited his teacher’s work, ‘Mishneh LaMelech’ on the Mishneh Torah LeHaRambam.
