A Rare Art Deco Silver Box - A Gift from the Women's Association to the Chief Rabbi of Vienna. Vienna, 1928.

A very handsome silver box, partially gilt and fitted with a wooden insert.
This silver cigar box was gifted by the Association of Jewish Women in the Währing district of Vienna to the city's Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Dr. David Feuchtwang (1864-1936), in celebration of the 25th anniversary of his being appointed to the position of Chief Rabbi.
The inside of the box's lid carries a dedication inscription: "In Verehrung/ Seiner Ehrwürden Herrn Rabbiner Dr. D. Feuchtwang/ zu seinem 25 jahhrigen Wiener Amtsjubiläum/ vom Vorstand des isr. Frauenverein Währing/ 1928".
With several hallmarks, including M. Oesterreicher Wien, and 800.
