Handwritten and signed letter from the tremendous Goan Rabbi Shlomo HaCohen, from 1882. A permit for shechita on the condition that the rabbi provide his approval.
The Gaon Rabbi Shlomo HaCohen (1831-1906) was one of the greatest rabbis of his generation and the elder of the rabbis of Vilna at that time. He wrote Heshek Shlomo, Binyan Shlomo and other books. A close friend of the Chafetz Chaim, and one of the rabbis who wrote approbations for the Mishna Brura.
