Handwritten Torah commentary by the kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Shabazi
The holy handwriting of the great Kabbalist Rashash – Rabbi Shalom Shabazi. Very rare! Mid-17th century. Part of his Chemdat Yamim commentary on the Torah. Commentary on Parashat VaYechi.
Rashas was the greatest Yemenite poet, an exemplary and greatly admired figure among Yemenite Jewry.
Blessed with a brilliant mind, he studied all aspects of Torah, Mishna, Gemara, Midrash and early poskim and compositions. He was well-versed in Kabbala, Zohar and other Kabbalistic works that reached him. The hundreds of poems he wrote earned a special place among Yemenite sages.
