Adlivankin Samuil Yakovlevich (1897, Tatarsk, the Mogilevsk Province – 1966, Moscow).
Adlivankin S.Ya. is known as a painter, graphic painter, creator of monuments and art director. During 1912-1918 studied at Odessa Art College under K.K. Kostandy, then at Moscow State Free Shops under V.E. Tatlin (1918-1919). Belonged to the left wing of the 1920-1930 Soviet Art. During 1921-1922 participated in foundation of the New Society for Artists (also known as the “NOZH”), was a member of the Easel Painters Society (known as the “OST”). Collaborated with “Molodaya Guardia” Publishing House and made illustrations for such magazines, as “Lalot`”, “Military Crocodile” and “The Atheist”; created political posters and caricatures in collaboration with V.V. Mayakovskiy. His one-man show took place in Moscow, 1961. The artist’s works are displayed in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum as well as in many regional museums.
