Document upon the establishment of the support fund by the righteous scholars of Jerusalem to save from starvation, with their hand written signatures. Jerusalem 1944.
In the years of terrible distress by the WWII, the great scholars of Jerusalem decided together to save from their own bread and deduct from their meager monthly salaries for the poor people of Israel.
In this important historical document, we learn about their establishment of a charity fund to support and help in various honorable ways through their holy institutions, to save Yeshiva students, teachers of the Talmud Torah and the administrators of the institutions, in accordance with the agreement to be processed by a special Committee selected to manage this fund.
With this we give full power of attorney to the administration of the institution to deduct from our salary from the institutions funds, with no claims. and G-d will help us. Signed 22nd day of Sivan 1944. Jerusalem.
