Zalman Shazar / Ezer Weizman - Letters
* A Letter in the handwriting and signature of Zalman Shazar from his tenure as President of the State. Sent to Abba Gordin in July 1964. Shazar attached to the letter a thousand pounds for the publication of Abba Gordin's book (An interesting act in itself. The president transfers a sum of money personally to the author for the purpose of publishing his book) and writes: "I'm sorry you did not write me the amount you need immediately for the publication of your book or books, but if an addition of a thousand pounds could have solved the question - then it is before you, and the blessing will be in your work ...". [1] Official paper of the 'President of the State of Israel'. (Attached, the original envelope in which the letter was sent)
* A letter signed by Ezer Weizmann as Minister of Defense, to the bereaved families on the eve of Remembrance Day 1979.
"This year on Remembrance Day, we are commemorating the memory of the warring boys in light of the the agreement with Egypt. It is only natural that the joy of peace should be mixed with pain over the heavy price we have to pay in return ..." . Printed on fine chrome paper by Weizmann 'Minister of Defense'.
Both letters are in very good condition.
