Felix Boniface [1831-1885] was a French photographer. He is considered the most important figure in chronicling the Levant of the 19th century. His photographs are characterized by rare quality and he is known as a person who made an unprecedented contribution to photography of the Middle East. Felix Boniface was perhaps the greatest photographer of the Land of Israel in the 19th century, and undoubtedly the most renowned and prolific.
